Harrisburg Senators News Release

Wilmer Difo's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted Harrisburg to a 5-4 comeback victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels Friday at Metro Bank Park. The crowd of 8,012 - the third-biggest in Metro Bank Park history - witnessed the Senators (39-42) bounce back from a 4-0 deficit to win its ninth in 10 games.

Colin Bates fired six scoreless innings to begin his start Friday night, but allowed an infield RBI single to opposing pitcher Matt Lujan with two outs in the top of the seventh inning. Richmond's Myles Schroder followed with a three-run homer off Bates to put Richmond up by four runs.

The Senators, which were no-hit through 6.2 innings, used three consecutive hits, including a Cutter Dykstra two-run single, to cut Richmond's lead in half. Then in the bottom of the ninth inning, Chris Bostick was hit by a pitch to start a rally. Matt Skole then singled, and Drew Vettleson scored Bostick with a base hit to right to make it 4-3, Richmond. Shawn Pleffner then walked to load the bases with nobody out, and Harrisburg tied the game when Cutter Dykstra grounded into a run-scoring double play. Richmond went scoreless in the 10th, and before the bottom half of the inning, Flying Squirrels' manager Jose Aguacil was ejected after an argument stemming from his incorrect reporting of a double-switch. Harrisburg's Derrick Robinson singled to start the 10th and then Brian Goodwin was hit by a pitch. Robinson and Goodwin moved up a base each on a wild pitch before Difo lifted a sac fly to center field.

Sammy Solis pitched a scoreless eighth inning, and James Simmons earned the win by throwing a scoreless ninth and tenth. In both innings, Simmons stranded a runner at third base.

The Senators will spend Independence Day in Altoona against the Curve. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m and the pregame show will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
