
Senators Sweep Two from Akron

On Thursday at Canal Park in Akron, the Harrisburg Senators took two games from the Akron Aeros, 7-6 and 6-1. With the wins, the Senators' record is 23-20, while the Aeros fall to 22-26. The Senators finish their road trip 5-1 and come back to Metro Bank Ballpark with a three-game win streak and in first place in the Western Division of the Eastern League.
Harrisburg's Bill Rhinehart and Alex Valdez contributed two -run shots, while Derek Norris hit a solo home run to lead the Senators to a 7-1 lead heading into the eighth inning of game one. Steve Lombardozzi and Tyler Moore added two hits each, including two doubles by Lombardozzi. Lombardozzi and Moore both had two hits in the game. Norris' home run was his third in three games. Game one started on Wednesday night but only one full inning was completed before the rain came and caused the game to be suspended at 1-1 in the top of the 2nd.
Sens pitcher, Brad Peacock (7-1) went 6.2 innings and allowed two runs on three hits. Peacock started the game today in the top of the second. Oliver Perez pitched the first inning last night. Carlos Martinez earned his first save of the year, tossing a scoreless final inning. Cory VanAllen and Hassan Pena also appeared in the game.
After holding on to win game one 7-6, the Sens fell behind 1-0 in game two before Tim Pahuta hit a long two-run home run in the third giving the Sens a 2-1 lead. They plated three more in the fourth and one in the sixth for their seven runs. Devin Ivany had two hits in game two and Chris Rahl and Pahuta both had two RBIs.
Ryan Tatusko started and pitched the first four innings, allowing four hits and a run. Jimmy Barthmaier pitched the final three innings for his first win of the season.
The Senators return home on Friday night to begin a five-game in four-day series with the Bowie Baysox. First pitch is at 7:00 p.m. when RH Tanner Roark (1-1, 5.79) takes the mound for the Senators against LH Rick Zagone (1-3, 5.52) for the Baysox. The game can be heard beginning at 6:50 p.m. on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone.
On game days, the Metro Bank Park box office is open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until the end of the game, and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the game. Box office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours.
