TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Erie SeaWolves will meet in the finale of a four-game series...The Flying Squirrels blasted three home runs including a pair from catcher Johnny Monell and Richmond rolled to a 6-3 win over the SeaWolves on Wednesday night in front of 3,709 fans at The Diamond.

GOING STREAKING: The Flying Squirrels will seek to match their longest winning streak of the season with a win tonight...The only time the club has won three straight games this season was 5/5-5/8...It was also the last time Richmond won consecutive games...It is just the fourth time that the Flying Squirrels have won consecutive games...The team has a chance to get back to the .500 mark for the first time since being 10-10 on 4/28.

TALE OF THE TAPE: The Flying Squirrels launched three home runs in the contest last night, matching a franchise record in the two-year history of the club...It was the fifth time that Richmond homered three times in a game and first since blasting three home runs 9/2/10 at Erie...It was just the second time that the club homered three times in a game at The Diamond, the other being 6/8/10 against New Britain...It was the second multi-homer game of the season for the Flying Squirrels...The club hit a pair of home runs 5/6 against Altoona...Richmond is still last in the Eastern League with 20 home runs hit on the season...Twelve of the teams 20 homers have come at The Diamond.

HERE'S JOHNNY!: Catcher Johnny Monell became the fifth Flying Squirrel to homer multiple times in a game and the first this season...It was the first multi-homer game for a Richmond batter since Clay Timpner hit a pair of home runs 8/20/10 at Bowie...It was the third multi-homer game in Monell's five-year career and his first since 7/27/10 at Rancho Cucamonga while with Advanced-A San Jose...Five of the 25-year-old's six home runs have been hit at The Diamond and four of the six have been opposite field home runs.

JUAN GONE: Outfielder Juan Perez hit his first Double-A home run in last night's contest...It was his first home run since 9/4/10 against Visalia...The 24-year-old is tied with Johnny Monell and Roger Kieschnick for the team-lead with 13 extra-base hits...Since seeing his average dip to .220 on 5/10, Perez is batting .310 (18-for-58) in 13 games with a double, triple, home run, eight RBIs, and eight runs scored...He had a career-high five hits 5/15 against Harrisburg.

ROGER THAT!: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick went 1-for-4 with a run scored last night and has hits in each of his last eight games, his longest hitting streak of the season...Since seeing his average dip to a season-low .173 on 5/7, Kieschnick is hitting .349 (22-for-63) and has hits in 13 of his last 15 contests including multi-hit performances in nine of those games.

MAY IS FOR MATOS: Right-hander Osiris Matos allowed one hit over two scoreless innings Tuesday night...In eight appearances this month, the 26-year-old has tossed 15 scoreless innings, limiting opponents to a .140 (7-for-50) batting average against...He has struck out seven batters while walking two over that span and has lowered his ERA from 5.02 to 2.63.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.80 ERA through 45 games, one of only two staffs with a sub-three ERA (Trenton 2.93)...The club ranks second in the league with 372 strikeouts, and the pitching staff has logged a league-high 420 2/3 innings of work.

HOME AND AWAY: Tonight, the Flying Squirrels wrap up a stretch of playing 10 out of 13 games at home...Richmond is 16-10 at home and is batting .254 (230-for-907) in 26 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.23 runs per game at home (110R/26G)...Beginning May 27th, the club will start a stretch where it will play 13 of 16 games on the road...The Flying Squirrels are 6-13 on the road, and they are batting .198 (127-for-642) and averaging 3.05 runs per game (58R/19G) in 19 road contests.
