June 11, 2009 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Senators had their largest offensive explosion of the season on Thursday afternoon to beat the Binghamton Mets 16-2. The 16 runs were a season high and they also had 18 hits, one short of a season high in the rain shortened game.

Six Senators had multi-hit games with Ofilio Castro leading the way with four hits. He is the fourth Senator this year with at least four hits in a game. Castro also drove in four runs. Jemel Spearman had two hits and a two-run home run. Ian Desmond, Edgardo Baez, Bill Rhinehart, and Matt Whitney all had two hits in the game. Marvin Lowrance hit a three-run home run for his lone hit and Javi Herrera had a two-run single for his only hit. All nine Senators starters, including starting pitcher Erik Arnesen had at least one hit.

Arnesen pitched six solid innings, scattering eight hits while allowing just a single run for his third win of the year. Jennry Mejia took the loss for the B-Mets. Andrew Kown pitched the final inning for the Sens allowing three hits and a run.

The Sens equaled a season high with six runs on six hits in the seventh inning to turn the game into a blow-out.

The Sens have now won three straight series and are 14-11 in their past 25 games. They are also 7-5 in their past twelve road games.

The seven-game road trip continues on Friday night in Reading at 7:05 as the Senators and Reading Phillies begin a four-game series.
