Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Senators sent home 3,068 fans happy on Monday afternoon as Quincy Latimore laced an walk-off RBI single to give the Senators a 5-4 victory at Metro Bank Park. Harrisburg takes home a 3-2 series victory and a 6-3 homestand into the Eastern League All-Star break.
Harrisburg struck first in the third inning as Caleb Ramsey knocked in Quincy Latimore with an RBI single. Then in the fifth, Cole Leonida doubled into the left-center field gap with one out. The next batter, pinch-hitter Adrian Sanchez, lined a home run over the fence in left-center field to push Harrisburg in front, 3-2. It was the first pinch-hit home run of the year by a Senator. Leonida started the ninth with a walk, moved to second on a Kevin Keyes groundout and then scored on an RBI single by Jose Lozada (2-for-5, 2B, SB) to tie the game at 4-4. One inning later, Matt Skole just missed a home run as he hit the center field fence in the air for a double. Jason Martinson followed with a walk. Latimore then ended it with the game-winning single into right field on a 3-2 pitch and two outs.
Scott McGregor retired 12 of the first 13 batters he faced, including six strikeouts, in four scoreless innings. However, the righty surrendered two solo homers in the fifth and then was replaced by the pinch-hitter Sanchez. Zach Kroenke allowed a solo home run in the sixth and a go-ahead RBI double in the seventh. Tyler Herron pitched two hitless innings to allow the Senators to tie the game. Derek Self pitched a scoreless tenth inning to pick up his first victory of the season.
Tomorrow begins the Eastern League All-Star break. Senators' outfielder Michael Taylor will be taking part in the Eastern League Home Run Derby tomorrow. Taylor will be joined by Kevin Keyes and Colin Bates in playing the Eastern League All-Star Game on Wednesday at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona, Pa.
