Harrisburg Senators News Release

Erie, PA - The Harrisburg Senators allowed just three hits but still lost to the Erie SeaWolves, 2-1, Friday at Jerry Uht Park. Erie LHP Luke French again stifled the Harrisburg offense as he pitched eight innings and allowed one run.

Harrisburg RHP Craig Stammen went toe-to-toe with French in a pitcher's duel through seven innings, but took the loss. Stammen went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits, walked three and struck out a pair.

Stammen allowed two runs, both in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Jeff Kunkel singled in his first career at-bat for the SeaWolves to start the inning. Casper Wells walked and Will Rhymes followed with an RBI single to center to make it 1-0 Erie. With runners at the corners, Wilkin Ramirez lifted a sacrifice fly to center to give the SeaWolves a two-run advantage. Stammen induced an inning-ending double play to limit the damage.

Luis Jimenez punched a solo home run to left-center in the top of the 4th to cut the deficit to 2-1, but French didn't allow another run in his eight innings of work.

In the 9th, the Senators had the tying run at third base and the go-ahead run at second, but couldn't push a run across against RHP Casey Fein.

Stammen dropped to 0-1 on the season. French snagged the win to move to 5-7. Fein notched his seventh save of the year.

The Senators fell to 44-34. The SeaWolves improved to 34-46.

The Senators and SeaWolves meet again Saturday at Jerry Uht Park. Game time is set for 7:05 PM with RHP Bobby Brownlie (6-0, 3.31 ERA) faces Erie RHP Josh Rainwater (5-3, 4.64 ERA).
