Altoona Curve News Release

BOWIE, MD - Friday's scheduled series opener between the Altoona Curve and Bowie Baysox (AA/Baltimore Orioles) at Prince George's Stadium in Maryland was postponed due to heavy rain, which fell prior to the game. The game will be made up as part of a 6:05 p.m. doubleheader Saturday evening. The Curve and Baysox will play a pair of seven-inning contests.

Altoona will send right-hander Josh Hill (4-8, 4.58) to the mound in game one and Friday's scheduled starter, lefty Kyle Bloom (0-4, 5.48), in the nightcap. Bowie will counter with right-hander Chorye Spoone (2-3, 5.04) in the first game and southpaw Rommie Lewis (0-4, 3.19) in game two.

The Curve (34-43) have had the Baysox (44-35) number so far this season, winning the first six meetings between the two clubs, including a three-game sweep last weekend at Blair County Ballpark, in which the Curve outscored Bowie, 12-1.

Altoona lost three of four games to the Binghamton Mets to open the current seven-game road trip. The Curve will return home to Blair County Ballpark on Monday to open a season-long, eight-game homestand, which runs through July 7. Great seats remain for the upcoming homestand, and all remaining 2008 Curve home games, and can be purchased by calling the Curve Ticket Office at (877) 99-CURVE or by visiting AltoonaCurve.com.

Fans can listen to Saturday's twinbill between the Curve and Baysox on flagship station Real Oldies 93.5 FM and the Curve Radio Network beginning at 5:50 p.m. with the Curve GameDay Show presented by the Hotel Belmar and Budget Beverage.
