
Rock Cats Have Two Roster Transactions

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats announced two roster transactions this afternoon involving - infielder Luke Hughes - and Relief pitcher Jay Sawatski.
INF Luke Hughes, The 23-year-old Hughes who was placed on the Disabled List on June 9th with a strained left groin and was activated effective immediately.
Hughes was New Britain's top offensive player since Opening Day/2008. When Hughes went on the DL he led the league in several offensive categories including Batting Average, Home Runs, Slugging Percentage, & Runs Scored. Hughes appeared in 47 total games for the 2008 Rock Cats and collected 64 Hits.
LHP Jay Sawatski, a 26-year-old native of Little Rock, AR, has been reassigned to Ft. Myers in the Florida State League. The Minnesota Twins' 8th Round selection out of University of Arkansas in the 2004 Draft, the 6'1"/200-pound.
The New Britain Rock Cats are the Double-A, Eastern League affiliate of the American League's Minnesota Twins.
