Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Harrisburg Senators rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to beat the Altoona Curve 6-5 on Wednesday night at FNB Field. Robert Hassell III hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning to give the Senators the lead. After Altoona retook the lead in the sixth inning, the Senators again rallied for three runs to take a 6-4 lead. Altoona loaded the bases in the ninth inning, but Malvin Pena retired the final two batters to save the game for Harrisburg.

The Big Play

With the Senators trailing 2-0 in the fifth inning, Robert Hassell III hit a 1-1 pitch into the left field stands for a three-run home run, giving the Senators the lead.

On Capitol Hill

Alemao Hernandez started and earned the win going the first six innings. He allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out four. He's now 2-3 for the Senators... Tyler Beck followed and allowed a run in one inning of work... Tim Cate worked a perfect eighth inning... Malvin Pena allowed two hits and a walk but pitched out of a bases loaded one-out jam to earn his second save.

With the Gavel

Jacob Young, Trey Lipscomb, and Leonel Valera all had two hits for the Senators... Robert Hassell III drove in three with his three-run home run... Onix Vega and JT Arruda both scored twice... Harrisburg stole two bases in the game and have 91 stolen bases on the season.

Filibusters

The game marked the beginning of the second half for both clubs... The home run by Hassell was the Sens first in seven games... Harrisburg went 4-for-12 with runners in scoring position.

The Senators and Altoona Curve play game two of their six-game series Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 6:15 p.m.
