Harrisburg Senators News Release

On Saturday night in front of 5,480, the Harrisburg Senators dropped their second straight game to Akron, this time 4-3. For the second straight game, the Senators had an early lead but lost it en route to falling to 34-26 on the season. Akron improved to 30-33 with their second win in a row over the Sens after winning just eight of their past 22 games before last night.

Steve Lombardozzi led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run to tie the game, the third time this season he has opened the bottom of the first with a home run. Stephen King hit a home run with one-out in the second to give the Sens a 3-1 lead. But that's all the scoring the Senators would muster on Saturday night.

Akron took the lead in the seventh on a solo home run by Karexon Sanchez to give the Aeros their final winning margin at 4-3. Steven Wright pitched five innings in relief for Akron picking up his first win of the year. Cory Burns pitched a perfect ninth inning for his 15th save this season.

Oliver Perez started for the Sens and pitched 5.1 innings before giving way to Jimmy Barthmaier, who pitched 2.2 innings but allowed the home run to Sanchez. Rafael Martin pitched the final inning for the Sens.

The final game of the series is on Sunday afternoon at Metro Bank Park. RH Brad Peacock takes the mound for Harrisburg with the first pitch set for 2:00 p.m. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 1:50 p.m.
