News and Notes

FRESH START: The Sea Dogs continue their three-game series with the Baysox today behind starter Stolmy Pimentel...The 21-year old makes his return after being placed on the disabled list with a right quad contusion...Pimentel is still in search of his first career Double-A victory and has given up 21 earned runs over his last 12 innings pitched.

EARLY OFFENSE: Bowie took the first game of the series thanks to a six-run first inning last night against Portland starter Chris Balcom-Miller...The Baysox had six hits in the inning, including four doubles, as they sent ten men to the plate.

COSTLY MISTAKES: Of the seven runs scored by Bowie, just three were earned runs, due to five Portland errors on the night...It's the third time this season the Sea Dogs have committed five errors in a game...The most they've had in any game this season was six against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on May 26, which matched a franchise record.
