Second Inning Power Surge Propels Snappers to Victory

The Beloit Snappers snapped a mini two-game losing streak as they defeat the Burlington Bees 5-1 Saturday night at Pohlman Field.

The Snappers broke out five straight hits to start off the second frame in which they scored four runs with the big hit coming from James Beresford who hit a two RBI double to centerfield making it 4-0 Snappers.

In the seventh inning the Snappers tagged on another run as Beresford would score on three base throwing error by Bee's reliever Paul Paukovits when Reggie Williams put down a sac bunt.

Brad Stilling picked up his first win of the 2010 campaign as he struck out five batters in six innings of work.

The "Brodie Trophy Player of the Game" is Snappers reliever Kane Holbrooks who pitched three innings while striking out five batters and yielding no runs for his second save of the season.

The Snappers look to take the three game series Sunday afternoon as Peter Kennelly will make his first start of the season with first pitch scheduled for 2:00PM. Second Inning Power Surge Propels Snappers to Victory.
