Clinton LumberKings News Release

Davenport, IA - The Clinton LumberKings, in conjunction with the Seattle Mariners have announced the addition of outfielder Welington Dotel to the 25-man roster. Dotel joins the LumberKings from extended Spring Training and takes the roster spot of outfielder Daniel Carroll, who has been transferred to the seven-day disabled list.

Dotel, 24, split last season between short-A Everett and the LumberKings. In his 19 games with Clinton, the Dominican Republic native hit .286 with a home run and 11 RBI.

Carroll has missed the last five games with a sore hamstring. He's hitting .261 with two home runs, seven RBI and six stolen bases in 19 games this season.

Dotel is expected to join the club this evening in Davenport and will be available for the game against the Quad Cities River Bandits. He has not yet been assigned a number. The move gives the LumberKings a total of 25 active players, with one on the disabled list.

The LumberKings (13-16) continue the commuter series against Quad Cities (17-12) tonight at Modern Woodmen Park, first pitch scheduled for 6:00 PM. Left-hander Jon Hesketh (2-1, 6.75) is slated to make his sixth start of the season. Listen to the game on AM 1390 KCLN in Clinton or live on the web at 1390kcln.com.
