Harrisburg Senators News Release

Two errors in the final two innings helped the Erie SeaWolves overcome a late deficit, and eventually beat the Harrisburg Senators on Tuesday evening at Metro Bank Park, by a final score of 4-3.  With the ten-inning loss, the Senators (63-58) fell two games behind the Bowie Baysox in the playoff chase in the Eastern League's Western Division.

The SeaWolves (55-67) scored one run in the eighth inning to cut into a 3-0 Senators lead, then scored two two-out runs off of Cole Kimball in the ninth to tie it at three.  The first run scored on a wild pitch, and the second came across on an error by second baseman Stephen Lombardozzi.  The error was on a ground ball that could have ended the game.  In the tenth inning, an error by first baseman Chris Marrero allowed the go-ahead, and ultimately winning, run to score.  The winning run came across against Orlando Hernandez (0-1) of the Sens, who took the loss.  Jay Voss (2-3) got the win for Erie, while Lester Oliveros earned his seventh save by shutting down the Sens in the tenth.

The loss wasted a great outing from Sens starter Brad Peacock, who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, and ultimately allowed just one hit, and no runs, in seven innings of work.  The Sens also outhit Erie 9-5 on the game, getting three hits from Josh Johnson, and two apiece from Brad Coon and Michael Burgess.  Burgess hit two long solo home runs over the right-field fence in his AA debut, and finished two-for-four with two runs batted in and two runs scored.  Lombardozzi and Tim Pahuta each had one hit for the Sens.

Game two of the three-game, mid-week series between the teams is set for Wednesday night at 7 PM at Metro Bank Park, with LHP Tom Milone (9-5, 2.95) going for the Senators, against RHP Brooks Brown (11-7, 3.70) of Erie.  Both Milone and Brown represented the Western Division at the Eastern League All-Star Game, with Milone starting the ballgame.  Radio coverage of Wednesday's game begins at 6:45, on 1460 AM The Ticket and www.senatorsbaseball.com.
