
SeaWolves Stumble in Doubleheader

The SeaWolves lost the completion of a suspended game to the Reading Fightin Phils on Friday night by a 9-1 final.
Reading jumped ahead in the second against Erie starter Cory Riordan. Jake Fox and KC Serna each singled and Gabriel Lino walked to load the bases. With one out, Angelo Mora singled home a pair for a 2-0 lead.
The Fightin Phils put the game out of reach in the eighth. Dylan Cozens homered with one out making it 3-0. With two outs, Serna and Gabriel Lino connected on back-to-back singles. Mitch Walding singled home Serna making it 4-0. Mora doubled home Lino and Scott Kingery doubled home both Walding and Mora making it 7-0.
Erie's lone run came in the last of the eighth off of Reading reliever Ricardo Pinto. With two outs, Kody Eaves connected on an opposite-field home run, his ninth, making it 7-1.
In the top of the ninth, Rhys Hoskins led off with a double and Cozens followed it up with a two-run home run to right for his second of the game and 37th of the season against reliever Kurt Spomer .
Pinto (5-4) earned the win allowing a run on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts in eight innings.
Riordan (4-7) took the loss allowing seven runs on 13 hits with two walks and five strikeouts in 7.2 innings.
GAME TWO

Reading broke out the bats again in game two of Friday night's doubleheader as they took down the SeaWolves 10-6.
The Fightins struck first in the top of the first inning against Erie starter Thad Weber. Christian Marrero doubled with one out and scored on a Jorge Alfaro double for a 1-0 lead. Dylan Cozens singled pushing Alfaro to third. Rhys Hoskins lifted a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Alfaro making it 2-0. Jake Fox then singled home Cozens for a 3-0 lead.
The SeaWolves took the lead in the last of the first against Reading starter Gregory Infante . Wynton Bernard led off with a walk and Gustavo Nunez singled putting two on for Anthony Gose . Gose singled home both baserunners making it 3-2. Christin Stewart walked to put two on base. Mike Gerber followed with a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Gose, tying the game. With one out, Grayson Greiner smashed a two-run home run to right making it 5-3. The home run for Greiner was his fifth.
Reading quickly regained the lead in the second. KC Serna led off with a single and with one out, Roman Quinn singled and Christian Marrero, loading the bases. Cozens cleared the bases with a double, giving Reading a 6-5 lead.
The Fightins added to their lead in the fourth. Angelo Mora led off with a triple. With one out, Marrero walked putting two on for Alfaro. Alfaro belted a three-run home run for a 9-5 Reading advantage.
In the sixth, Quinn led off with a triple and he scored on a Marrero base hit making it 10-5 against reliever David Martinez.
Erie got one back in the last of the sixth against reliever Mario Hollands . Bernard walked with one out and moved into scoring position on a Nunez walk. Gose singled home Bernard making it 10-6.
Reading reliever Alexis Rivero (1-0) earned the win in relief tossing two scoreless innings with three walks and two strikeouts.
Weber (0-1) took the loss allowing nine runs on 11 hits with two walks and a strikeout in four innings.
The SeaWolves and Fightins meet once again on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Artie Lewicki (1-5, 3.21 ERA) takes the mound for Erie against RHP John Richy (2-3, 5.68 ERA).
Saturday is Star Wars Night with postgame fireworks thanks to Rebich Investments. The SeaWolves will wear special Star Wars jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game with proceeds benefiting the Miracle League.
