ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION... Tonight, the SeaWolves look for three straight wins as they take the field in the middle game of a three-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) at The Diamond. Last night, the SeaWolves won the first ever meeting between the two clubs 3-1. It was only the SeaWolves second win of the season when scoring three runs or fewer. The ‘Wolves are now in a second place tie with Richmond, a half game behind first place Altoona. Since starting the season 0-8, the SeaWolves have won 22 of their last 30. Erie has raised its team batting average over that span from .143 to .245...Lefty Duane Below takes the mound for the Howlers making his eighth start of the season and first against Richmond. Below took a no-decision in his last start against Akron going 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on five hits with no walks and a strikeout. Erie has won the last four games started by Below...The Flying Squirrels send righty David Mixon to the bump. Mixon makes his eighth start of the season and is coming off of back-to-back wins. In his last start against Altoona, Mixon allowed just two runs on four hits with two walks and a season-high nine strikeouts in tying a season-high with seven innings pitched. Mixon has allowed just four earned runs in his last 26.0 innings pitched and is 3-0 with a no-decision over that span...The SeaWolves are hitting .290 over their last 10 games with 10 home runs and 51 runs scored. The club is 7-3 in their last 10. TODAY'S NOTABLES - - Erie leads the season series over Richmond 1-0. The SeaWolves and Flying Squirrels meet 14 times in 2010.
