Harrisburg Senators News Release

It was a great night to be named Brad at Metro Bank Park.

After Brad Meyers' third straight great start for the Harrisburg Senators had become a no-decision, Brad Coon salvaged a win for the Senators with a walkoff triple in the bottom of the ninth inning, which scored Jhonatan Solano and gave the Sens a 2-1 victory over the Reading Phillies.

Meyers threw five and two-thirds shutout innings, struck out nine, and did not walk a batter, as he maintained his 0.00 earned run average through three starts. He also drove in the first run of the game, with a fifth-inning single that scored Coon from second to put the Senators (19-20) in front 1-0.

But the R-Phils (15-23) tied the score in the eighth, as pinch-hitter Tagg Bozied doubled in Quintin Berry off of Yunior Novoa. That made the score 1-1 entering the ninth, setting up Coon's heroics.

Coon finished two-for-four on the night, with an RBI and a run scored. Chris Marrero also had two hits for the Senators, who have won seven of eight. Adam Carr (4-1) picked up the win in relief, while Michael Schwimer (2-2) took the loss for Reading.

The two teams are back at it for game three of the three-game series at 10:30 AM. Right-hander Andrew Kown makes his first AA start of the season for the Senators, while RHP Drew Naylor (3-4, 4.57) goes for Reading. Radio coverage begins at 10:15 AM, on 1460 AM The Ticket and www.senatorsbaseball.com.
