TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Erie SeaWolves will meet in game two of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels dropped the opener of the set against the SeaWolves 3-1 on Tuesday night at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander David Mixon gets the start in game two of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Earned his fourth win in six starts on 5/13 against Altoona...Allowed two runs on four hits in seven innings of work...Struck out nine batters and walked two...Two of the four hits allowed were infield singles...Both runs allowed scored with two outs in an inning (1st & 5th)...Recorded seven ground outs and four fly outs...Went three balls in the count to four of the 26 batters he faced...Threw 88 pitches, 61 strikes...Nine strikeouts were a season-high for a Richmond pitcher...Seven innings matched the longest start of his career...Third time in four starts he has tossed seven frames...Has allowed just seven runs over his last 37 2/3 innings of work (1.67 ERA) after giving up four runs in five innings in his Double-A debut 4/11 at Bowie...Named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week (5/3-5/9)...Leads the Eastern League in fewest base runners per nine innings at 7.80 (37/42.2 IP) and WHIP (0.84)...Ranks second in the Eastern League with a .193 batting average against, fourth with a 2.32 ERA and is tenth in innings pitched (42.2 IP).

Left-hander Duane Below gets the nod in game two of the series for the SeaWovles...Received a no-decision in his last start against Akron 5/12 after allowing two runs on five hits with one strikeout and no walks...Took the loss in each of his first three starts, giving up nine runs in 7 2/3 innings (10.57 ERA)...Struck out a season-high 10 batters and earned the win at Bowie 4/27...Has not allowed an earned run in each of his last two road starts (0ER/10.1 IP)...Has pitched five innings or more in only three of his seven starts...Appeared in only eight games in 2009 including two with Erie...Put on the DL 5/24/09 with a left elbow strain and missed the rest of the season...Struck out 126 batters and walked 70 in 133 1/3 innings of work with Advanced-A Lakeland in 2008...Went 8-7 with a 4.46 ERA...Spent all of 2007 with Low-A West Michigan and went 13-5 with a 2.97 ERA in 26 starts...Struck out 160 batters and walked 58 in 145 2/3 innings...Named a Midwest League mid-season All-Star...Named the Detroit Tigers 2007 Minor League Pitcher of the Year...Selected in the 19th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Lake Michigan College...Hometown of Britton, MI, located just 65 miles southwest of Detroit.

AT A LOSS: The Flying Squirrels have dropped each of their last three games after last night's 3-1 loss to the SeaWolves...It is just the second time this season that the club has lost three games in a row...The club dropped five straight games 4/10-4/14...Over the last three games, Richmond has been outscored 19-9...The Flying Squirrels have allowed 10-plus hits in each of the last three contests and the club has been outhit 35-22 overall over that span...The team has also stranded 27 base runners over the course of the losing streak...Opposing starters have allowed just six runs, three earned, on 17 hits in 19 2/3 innings (1.37 ERA) during Richmond's losing streak.

THOMAS THE TRAIN: Outfielder Thomas Neal matched a season-high with three hits in last night's contest against Erie...The 22-year-old leads the club with 12 multi-hit games...Neal also swiped his fifth base of the season last night...Prior to this season, the most bases he had stolen in a season was three and he had stolen just seven bases in 306 career games...Neal did steal 12 bases in 15 tries while with the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League this past offseason.

PLAY LIKE CLAY: Outfielder Clay Timpner has hits in each of his last 12 contests, the longest hitting streak of the season for a Richmond batter...The 26-year-old is hitting .432 (19-for-44) over the course of the streak with five doubles, 10 RBI, and six runs scored...He drove in at least one run in seven straight games (4/28-5/5)...He went 13-for-25 (.520) with four doubles, nine RBI, and three runs scored on the previous seven-game homestand...Timpner is batting .440 (11-for-25) with runners in scoring position...Prior to this season, Timpner had not played at first base in his professional career...He has made four starts there thus far in 2010.

TURPEN-TIME: Right-hander Daniel Turpen tossed 1 1/3 innings last night and did not surrender a walk...He has issued just two walks in 22 1/3 innings with one being unintentional...Turpen's 0.40 walks per nine innings (1BB/22.1 IP) is the lowest in the Eastern League...The 23-year-old has inherited 11 base runners and has allowed only one to score (.917).

ERROR MESSAGE: The Flying Squirrels have committed seven errors in the past two games including a season-high five errors in the game on Sunday...It is just the second time this season Richmond has committed at least one error in consecutive games...The club has slipped from first to third in fielding percentage (.983) and fifth in errors committed (25).

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE: Richmond is 13-6 at The Diamond even after three straight home losses...The Flying Squirrels are one of only three teams in the Eastern League to win 13 games at home and the club's .684 winning percentage at home is tied with New Hampshire for tops in the league.

MAKING THEIR PITCH: The Flying Squirrels' pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.81 ERA...The club has also allowed an Eastern League-low 117 runs...The 286 hits allowed by Richmond are second-fewest in the league (Trenton-253)...Richmond pitching leads the Eastern League with six shutouts.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 48 double plays in their first 38 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The 15 hits allowed by the Flying Squirrels last night was the most given up in a game this season...13 of the 15 Erie hits were singles...The club had previously allowed 14 hits on Opening Day at Bowie.
