Erie SeaWolves News Release

The SeaWolves were shut out on Thursday night at Arm & Hammer Park 6-0 to the Trenton Thunder.

Trenton grabbed the lead in the third against Erie starter Chad Green. With two outs, Jake Cave and Aaron Judge each singled putting two on for Greg Bird. Bird doubled home Cave for a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Francisco Arcia belted a solo home run to right, his first, for a 2-0 Thunder advantage.

Trenton added to its lead in the sixth. Bird and Eric Jaigelo each singled to start the inning. A fielder's choice off the bat of Arica retired Jaigelo at second and put runners on the corners. Ali Castillo lifted a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Bird making it 3-0. Danny Oh then doubled home Arcia for a 4-0 lead.

The Thunder put the game out of reach in the seventh. Cave singled with one out and Aaron Judge tripled him home for a 5-0 lead. Judge scored on a two-out Jaigelo hit for a six-run lead.

Erie was limited to just one hit in the game, a Wynton Bernard single in the first. Trenton did not allow an Erie baserunner in the final five innings of the game.

Green (2-8) took his third straight loss allowing six runs on 11 hits with no walks and four strikeouts.
