Great Lakes Loons News Release

Corey Seager, the Dodgers' top minor league prospect according to Baseball America, has earned a promotion to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the California League. Brandon Trinkwon has been added in his place.

Seager, the Dodgers' first round selection (18th overall) in 2012, ranked eighth in the Midwest League in batting average (.309) and fourth in slugging percentage (.529) entering Friday's rained out contest. He finished his Loons season on a nine-game hitting streak, batting .371 with four home runs during the stretch.

The North Carolina native was recently ranked by MiLB.com as the Dodgers' No. 2 prospect and by Baseball Prospectus as the No. 35 prospect in all of baseball.

In his place, the Loons have added hot-hitting shortstop Brandon Trinkwon from Ogden. The UC-Santa Barbara product was batting .363 in the Pioneer League in 32 games with 12 doubles, three triples and four homers. He was on an impressive 20-game hitting streak at the time of his promotion, batting .413 during the streak. Trinkwon was selected by L.A. in the seventh round of this year's amateur draft.

The Loons are a seventh-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
