Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
Biloxi, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves lost to the Reading Royals 5-2 at home on Friday evening, and defeated the Pensacola Ice Pilots 4-3 in a shootout at home on Sunday afternoon.

The Sea Wolves host the Gwinnett Gladiators for a pair of games on Thursday and Friday evening. Mississippi is 6-2-1 against the Gladiators and 4-0-0 on home ice since the team relocated to suburban Atlanta from Mobile following the 2001-02 season. The Sea Wolves hold a 29-27-4 record all-time against the Mobile/Gwinnett ECHL membership, with a 18-10-2 record at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Texas visits the Mississippi Coast Coliseum for the first time since April 5, 2005, when Phil Sauve made 22 saves and Bates Battaglia popped in the game-winner as the Sea Wolves shut out the Wildcatters 3-0. Mississippi is 22-4-0 against Texas all-time, and 11-3-0 on home ice.

The Reading Royals defeated the Mississippi Sea Wolves by a score of 5-2 as the Sea Wolves played their first home game since April 8, 2005 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in front of a crowd of 6,714.
Mississippi got on the board first just 3:03 into the game when Chris Cava hammered home the rebound of a shot from Mark Hurtubise to give the Sea Wolves a 1-0 lead.
Reading evened the score at one-apiece when Drew Bagnall's point shot beat Sea Wolves goaltender Morgan Cey at the 15:06 mark of the first period.
The Royals controlled play in the second period, with Charlie Kronschnabel giving Reading the lead with a power play goal at 10:42 of the second period, and Malcolm MacMillan scoring on a breakaway at 17:27.
Ned Lukacevic broke down the left wing and beat Morgan Cey high to the stick side just 27 seconds into the third period to give Reading a 4-1 lead. Mark Rooneem cut the lead to two when he fired a one-timer past Royals goaltender Jon Quick at 18:11 of the third period, but with Morgan Cey on the bench in favor of an extra attacker, Reading's Kevin Saurette fired into the empty net to ice the Royals' 5-2 win.
Sunday, October 28 vs. Pensacola Ice Pilots, 4-3 SOW
The Mississippi Sea Wolves defeated the Pensacola Ice Pilots 4-3 in a shootout at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.
Pensacola jumped on the board first when Bryan McGregor scored his first goal of the game on the power play at 16:30 of the first period. Mississippi would answer back less than two minutes later when Matt Deschamps hit Mark Rooneem with a home-run pass; Rooneem broke in alone on Pensacola goaltender Doug Groenestege and beat him high on the stick side.
The Ice Pilots regained the lead at the 1:50 mark of the second period when Mike Tuomi picked up the rebound of a shot from Jean-Claude Sawyer and fired it past Sea Wolves goaltender Morgan Cey. Travis Lisabeth answered back, banging home the rebound of Radek Smolenak's shot from the point to tie the game at two-apiece and give the Sea Wolves their first power-play goal of the season. Mississippi would take a 3-2 lead into the locker room after rookie Ryan Menei scored his first of the season at 15:09 of the second period.
Pensacola would tie the game at three when Bryan McGregor scored his second of the game at 6:30 of the third period. The game remained tied through overtime and the first five-and-half rounds of the shootout, when Travis Lisabeth beat Groenestege through the legs in the sixth round of the shootout to give Mississippi a 4-3 win.

Due to limited parking availability at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum because of ongoing construction efforts, fans should allow extra time to find parking and enter the arena at all home games.
