Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release

BILOXI, Miss. – Travis Lisabeth scored two goals and goaltender Randy Petruk made 30 saves to register his first win in a Mississippi Sea Wolves uniform by defeating his former team the Florida Everblades 4-3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

"That was a big win against a good hockey club," Mississippi coach Bob Woods said. "We came out flying in the second and the special teams were the difference scoring a pair. I'm happy for Petruk beating his former team. He was real steady. We had contributions from everyone tonight and it was a nice team effort."

Florida (30-17-8, 68 points) opened the score at the 6:59 mark. Everblades defenseman Tim O'Connell jumped up into the play and snapped a low shot from the right circle past the glove of Petruk, who was going up against his former team for the first time. Assists on the goal went to Brent McDonald and Chris Lee.

Mississippi (28-20-4, 60 points) got on the board just 47 seconds into the middle stanza. Florida goaltender Rob Zepp juggled a shot by Anthony Battaglia and Louis Dumont swatted the puck into the back of the cage for his 17th goal of the season. A helper also went to Bates Battaglia, who has points in his first five games.

The Everblades regained their one-goal lead at 7:04. Reggie Berg fed Brad Church on the left wing and he whistled a shot over the left shoulder of Petruk for his 21st tally of the campaign.

The Sea Wolves got back on even terms at 12:45. Travis Lisabeth sent a wrist shot through traffic from the slot to notch his 15th goal of the year. Jay Legault and Kerry Ellis-Toddington picked up assists.

Mississippi took its first lead of the game with eight seconds to go in the middle period. Lisabeth re-directed an Ellis-Toddington point shot for a power-play goal to make it 3-2 for the Sea Wolves after 40 minutes of action. Lisabeth's second of the stanza was his 16th marker of the season.

The Sea Wolves grabbed a two-goal lead with another power-play tally at 8:11 of the third. Mike Jarmuth wired a wrist shot just underneath the crossbar from the left circle for the eventual game-winner and 11th goal of the season. Austin Miller had the lone helper.

Florida pulled its goaltender in the final minute and Ryan Brindley netted his sixth of the campaign with 21 seconds left in regulation, but the Everblades were unable to get the equalizer. David Lundbohm was awarded an assist.

Mississippi went 2-for-3 on the power play, while Florida failed to convert on four chances with the man advantage. Everblades outshot the Sea Wolves 33-26.
