Sea Wolves Make Trio of Roster Moves in Advance of Game in Johnstown

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced on Tuesday that defenseman Chris Zarb has been assigned to the team from the American Hockey League's Philadelphia Phantoms, that goaltender Riku Helenius has been recalled to Norfolk Admirals of the AHL, and that the team has signed goaltender John Hallas.

Zarb has appeared in 10 games for Mississippi, notching six assists and a -6 rating while earning 22 penalty minutes. Prior to turning professional, Zarb, who was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 5th round (#144 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, appeared in 79 games with Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., scoring two goals and 27 assists and accruing 130 penalty minutes.

Helenius, a 6-foot-3, 202-pound goaltender from Palkane, Finland, appeared in two preseason games for the Admirals, going 1-1-0 with a 4.00 goals-against average and .840 save percentage. He has not appeared in a regular season game with Norfolk.

In 11 ECHL games this season, Helenius is 4-5-2 with a 3.80 GAA and .896 save percentage. He has gone 1-1-1 in three games with the Sea Wolves, posting a 3.53 GAA and .944 save percentage. The 20-year-old went 3-4-1 in his first eight games of North American professional hockey with the Augusta Lynx this season, recording his a win in his North American pro debut, stopping 44 of 46 shots on October 21 at Gwinnett.

Hallas, a native of Largo, Florida, appeared in two games with Mississippi last season, compiling a 1-0-0 record, after completing his collegiate career at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.
