
Rohlfs Returns, Chwedoruk Recalled by Springfield

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced today that right wing Justin Chwedoruk (CHEW-dor-uk) has been activated off injured reserve and recalled from the Thunder to Springfield.
In addition, it was announced right wing David Rohlfs has been activated off injured reserve and defenseman Cleve Kinley has been transferred from the three-day to seven-day injured reserve list. Defenseman Mark Adamek was placed on three-day injured reserve.
Rohlfs, 24, is scheduled to make his first return to the Thunder lineup since Dec. 27 tonight (7:05 p.m., 1420 KSTN/StocktonThunder.com) when the Thunder visit the Victoria Salmon Kings at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
Selected in the fifth round (154th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Rohlfs has scored six points (4g-2a) and amassed eight penalty minutes in 25 games for the Thunder this season. The 6-foot-3, 234-pound forward has skated in 92 career games with the Thunder and Springfield, scoring 38 points (20g-18a) while notching 51 penalty minutes.
Last season, Rohlfs scored 16 goals as a rookie which ranked second on the Thunder.
Chwedoruk, 24, is signed to an AHL contract with Springfield and leaves the Thunder after skating in 33 ECHL games this season, scoring seven points (4g-3a) while posting 59 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound forward has appeared in 233 career games over four seasons (2005-09) with the Stockton, Bakersfield and Wheeling of the ECHL, Springfield of the AHL, Quad City of the UHL and Oklahoma City and Lubbock of the CHL, scoring 139 points (60g-79a) while posting 335 penalty minutes.
The Thunder was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of San Joaquin Magazine, has led the ECHL in attendance for three consecutive seasons and drew 239,337 fans to Stockton Arena in 2007-08.
