Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces will play host to the Phoenix Roadrunners in their final home game of the regular season Sunday, March 15, at 3:05 p.m. The annual Fan Appreciation Party will be held immediately after the contest.
The March 15 game was added to the schedule, along with a February 15 tilt against Victoria at 5:05 p.m., after home games scheduled February 17-18 against Fresno were canceled when the Falcons ceased operations in December. Fans and sponsors holding tickets for those games may use the February 17 ticket for the game two days earlier against Victoria at 5:05 p.m., while the February 18 ticket will be assigned to the March 15 game vs. Phoenix at 3:05 p.m.
The Fan Appreciation party will be held in lieu of the traditional Sunday postgame skate and begin approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the game between the Aces and the Roadrunners, who will meet for the first time in Phoenix on February 21 in another game added to the schedule when Fresno ceased operations. Alaska also announced that winger Bo Cheesman, a fourth-year pro who had yet to appear in a game this season, has been traded to Wheeling in exchange for future considerations. Cheesman began his career with the Nailers in 2005 after four years at Lake Superior State.
The Aces, unbeaten in their last five games and 24-14-3 overall, return to action tomorrow at 7:15 p.m. against Pacific Division-leading Ontario, also unbeaten in its last five games (both teams are 4-0-1 in that span). Alaska has beaten the Reign (23-14-3 overall) in two of three match-ups this season, with all three games having been played in California, the last of which on January 7, when Luke Erickson scored with 59 seconds left in regulation to give the Aces a 3-2 victory. Tomorrow's game, as well as the rematches on Friday and Saturday, will be broadcast live on KFQD AM 750, with Peanut Farm Pre-Game Show coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m.
