Salmon Kings Sign Former Player Taylor

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed forward Adam Taylor for the remainder of the 2008-09 season.

The 6'0", 200 lbs Taylor played this season in the Asian Hockey League for the China Sharks, a San Jose Sharks affiliate, before joining the Salmon Kings.

The Campbell River, BC native is in his fourth professional season. He has played in 212 games as a pro with stints in Victoria (ECHL), Pensacola (ECHL), Florida (ECHL), Rochester (AHL) as well as in China (AL).

In 2005-06, Taylor played his first professional season in Victoria with the Salmon Kings. He collected 57 points (19g-38a) during his 72 game rookie campaign and led the team in scoring. Taylor spent the first 15 games of the 2006-07 season with the Salmon Kings before being dealt to the Pensacola Ice Pilots.

Prior to turning pro, Taylor spent five seasons in the WHL with the Kootenay Ice. Over those five seasons Taylor notched 65 goals and 118 assists for 183 points with 354 penalty minutes in 324 games. He also appeared in 51 playoff games, recording seven goals and 19 assists with 53 penalty minutes.

Taylor was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 7th round (#224 overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
