
Sea Dogs to Host Southern Midcoast Maine Community Day on June 17

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have teamed up with the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber of Commerce to host a Southern Midcoast Maine Community Day at Hadlock Field on Tuesday, June 17th at 7:00 PM as the Sea Dogs take on the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins).
Residents of Southern Midcoast Maine which includes the communities of Arrowsic, Bath, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Brunswick, Dresden, Edgecomb, Georgetown, Harpswell, Phippsburg, Richmond, Topsham, Westport Island, Wiscasset, and Woolwich are eligible for discounted tickets to the June 17th game. Residents of these communities will receive a $1.00 discount on all tickets they purchase for the June 17th game by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 and identifying yourself as a resident of Southern Midcoast Maine (must supply legal address). The discount is good on both Reserved and General Admission seating and is subject to availability. Also look for special family coupons that will admit Southern Midcoast Maine area families to the game for $15.00 per family (General Admission seating only, subject to availability). Coupons are available at the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber of Commerce in Topsham.
Slugger the Sea Dog recently visited Southern Midcoast Maine. Log on to www.seadogs.com to see video of Slugger's visit to the area. The video will be displayed on the Hadlock Field video board on Southern Maine Coast Maine Community Day on June 17th.
The ceremonial first-pitch will be delivered by Topsham resident Charles Crosby IV. Crosby played centerfield for the 2008 Ararat Cal Ripken Baseball Majors Division Championship Team from Topsham and is a member of the All-Star Team. He will be attending Mt. Ararat Middle School in the fall.
Miss Teen Maine, Hannah Rowell, will perform the National Anthem. The 17 year-old is a 2008 graduate of South Portland High School. She is a member of the Key Club where she served as New England District Key Club Lt. Governor, New England District Key Club Treasurer, and Key Club International Trustee to the districts of Texas, Oklahoma, New York, and the Capital. Hannah has performed leading roles in South Portland High School's productions of Footloose and Disney's High School Musical. She was named Portland's Teen Idol in 2005.
Additionally, residents from the Southern Midcoast Maine area will be randomly selected to participant in some of the on-field promotions during the game. The Sea Dogs' front office has several connections to the Southern Midcoast Maine area. Sea Dogs' Assistant General Manager/ Media Relations, Chris Cameron, was born and raised in Brunswick. He was a 1995 graduate of Brunswick High School. Sea Dogs' Director of Ticketing, Dave Strong, is a resident of Topsham.
The Southern Midcoast Maine area offers miles of pristine coastline providing sandy beaches, ocean vistas, historic lighthouses and fresh lobster.
