Portland Sea Dogs News Release


The Portland Sea Dogs have made the following transactions for April 21st:

LHP Kyle Fernandes transferred to Single-A Lowell. LHP Daniel Haigwood received from Single-A Lowell.

Fernandes made one appearance for the Sea Dogs tossing two innings of no hit ball on Friday against the Binghamton Mets, he walked one and struck two earning the win. The 22 year-old, was selected by the Red Sox in the 12th round of the June 2005 draft.

Haigwood has made five appearances for Portland this season. He is 0-0 with one save and a 0.68 ERA. He has struck out 18 batters in 13.1 innings pitched. The 24 year-old was acquired from the Texas Rangers in exchange for Sea Dogs' pitcher Scott Sheomaker on April 19, 2007.

The Sea Dogs begin a seven game homestand tonight at Hadlock Field at 6:00 PM against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays). The Sea Dogs have won eight straight games and are off to a 13-3 start leading the Eastern League's Northern Division. Tickets are available for all Sea Dogs' home games.
