New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats announced this afternoon that 23-year-old RHP David Shinskie has been placed on the Disabled List, effective immediately.
Selected by Minnesota in the 4th Round of the 2003 Draft, Shinskie has recently experienced what is described as minor soreness in his pitching shoulder. He will undergo an MRI later this week.
The 6'4"/214-pound Shinskie made four relief appearances for the 2008 Rock Cats. He pitched a total of 7.0 innings for Double-A New Britain, posting 1 Save and a 2.57 ERA.
New Britain will play one player short for tonight's game against visiting Reading. It is expected that another roster move will be made tomorrow to put the Eastern League club back at full strength.
