NEWS AND NOTES
OFF TO A GOOD START: The Portland Sea Dogs and Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants affiliate) play the middle game of their series on Wednesday night at the Diamond...With a win tonight, the 'Dogs will take the series in Richmond for the third time in the last four years...Following this series, Portland begins a three-game set on Friday night against the Bowie Baysox (Orioles affiliate) in Maryland...The Sea Dogs are 7-10 on the road this half.
DALBEC, DURAN LEAD THE WAY: 3B Bobby Dalbec went 3-for-5, 4 RBI, leading the Sea Dogs to a 9-3 win in the series opener on Tuesday night...CF Jarren Duran extended his hitting streak to nine games, going 2-for-4, 3 RBI...RHP Bryan Mata tossed five innings on two runs to secure his second Double-A win...LHP Dedgar Jimenez fired the final two innings to secure his second save of the year...The 'Dogs went 6-for-8 with runners-in-scoring position.
