NEWS AND NOTES
ON THE ROAD AGAIN : The Sea Dogs begin their final roadtrip of the season, taking on the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins affiliate) in the opener of a four-game series, and marking the final time in franchise history Portland will play in New Britain (final home series for the Rock Cats)...Next season, the Rock Cats will be the Hartford Yard Goats...Portland's second leg of the trip begins on Monday night at New Hampshire.
IT TAKES TWO : Portland scored seven runs over innings three and four and defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 7-3 Wednesday night in the series finale at Hadlock Field...Luis Martinez provided the game-winning hit, nailing a bases-clearing double off Scott Barnes (L, 2-6) in the third...RHP Luis Diaz (2-10) earned the win, tossing 5.1 innings on three hits, three runs (one earned), four walks and six strikeouts...Heri Quevedo pitched 3.2 innings to earn his first save of the season.
