Isaac Ballou's Four Hits Not Enough in Senators 5-4 Loss

Isaac Ballou went four-for-four with a home run and two doubles, but it wasn't enough for the Senators as they fell to Erie 5-4. With the loss the Senators drop 62-69 while Erie improved to 57-73.

The Senators took a 1-0 lead in the first on a single by Wilmer Difo and a run scoring double by Reggie Corona. Trailing 2-1 into the 2nd, Isaac Ballou homered and Derrick Robinson drove in Adrian Sanchez with a single to give the Sens a 3-2 lead. They extended the lead when Corona scored on a wild pitch in the fifth.

Dominic Ficociello homered twice for Erie including a three-run two-out home run in the fifth inning to give Erie a 5-4 lead.

Austin Voth started and took the loss, going five innings and allowing all five runs. Wander Suero and Gilbert Mendez pitched the final three scoreless innings for the Senators.

Along with Ballou's four hits, Corona had three in the game drove in a run and scored a run.

Game two of the four-game series is Friday night at 7:05 p.m. with RH Brian Rauh on the mound for the Senators.
