NEWS AND NOTES

ON TO THE NEXT ONE (SERIES 0-0):The Sea Dogs and New Britain Rock Cats (Rockies affiliate) were postponed on Monday night, and open up a three-game series with a doubleheader on Tuesday night at New Britain Stadium...Portland was rained out the first 2 days of the season and played a doubleheader on Opening Day against the Reading Fightin Phils, managing a split...The 'Dogs took two of the three from the 'Cats last week.

ONE INNING DID IT: Trenton scored five runs with two outs in the third inning, taking the series finale on Sunday afternoon, 5-1 at Arm & Hammer Park...Top Pitching Prospect Luis Severino worked five strong innings on 3 hits, one run, 4 walks and 6 strikeouts to earn the win...William Cuevas (1-1) suffered the loss, giving up 5 runs on 4 hits, 4 walks over 3 IP...Portland's lone run came in the fifth inning on a run-scoring from Jantzen Witte...Eric Jagielo had the game-winning hit, nailed a three-run triple...Dante Bichette Jr. and Mason Williams added RBIs in the win for Trenton.
