Schwindel Drives in Six as Legends Roll Past Tourists 15-7

(ASHEVILLE, N.C.) Frank Schwindel had four hits, including a home run, and drove in six runs as the Lexington Legends rolled to a 15-7 win over the Asheville Tourists Wednesday.

The Legends scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Alfredo Escalera drew a leadoff walk, and with one out, Schwindel homered to left field. Chad Johnson followed with a double, went to third on a ground out and scored on Fred Ford's single, giving the Legends a 3-0 lead.

The Tourists evened the score in the bottom of the first on Correlle Prime's three-run homer. Prime leads the South Atlantic League with 11 home runs.

The Legends scored a run in the second inning on Schwindel's RBI single, but Asheville's Max White hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the second to put the Tourists ahead 5-4.

Ramon Torres' solo homer in the fifth tied the game at 5-5, but Asheville regained the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Lexington moved in front for good with five runs in the top of the sixth, all coming with two outs.

The inning included an RBI single by Alfredo Escalera, who had three hits, two RBI, and scored four runs. Mauricio Ramos had a two-run single for Lexington to complete the big inning.

The Legends scored four more in the seventh, when Schwindel drove home two runs with his first double of the game. Schwindel also doubled home a run in the ninth.
