Sixth Run Ninth Gives Power 11-6 Win

Rome, GA - The West Virginia Power defeated the Rome Braves and took the rubber game on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 11-6.

West Virginia jumped on the board in the first on a solo homerun by JaCoby Jones for the 1-0 score. Rome took the lead in the fourth on a run scoring ground out by Victor Reyes and an RBI single by Seth Moranda making the score 2-1. The Braves added a run to their lead in the fifth on a run scoring bunt from Johan Camargo. Rome and West Virginia would trade blows for the next three innings and go into the ninth with the Braves leading 6-5.

The Power rallied in the ninth with six runs on RBI singles by Wyatt Mathisen and Justin Maffei, and a two run double by Elvis Escobar. A pair of defensive errors plated Danny Collins and Mathisen to take the lead 11-6. All six runs in the inning were unearned. Rome went quietly in the bottom of the inning as West Virginia held on for the win.

Yhonathan Barrios (2-3) gets the win and Colby Holmes (1-1) gets the loss. A bright spot for the Braves, Camargo was a home run shy of the cycle and went five for five at the plate with one RBI.
