(Rome, GA- May 28, 2014)- The West Virginia Power rallied for an 11-6 win against the Rome Braves on Wednesday afternoon. Trailing 6-5 in the top of the ninth, the Power scored six times on four hits and two Braves errors to steal the final game of the series and take two of three at State Mutual Stadium.

West Virginia scored three in the sixth for a 4-3 lead, keyed by two wild pitches, a run-scoring double and a single from Edwin Espinal to bring home Jones. The Braves tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run by Carlos Franco and held a 5-4 lead after six. Each team scored once in the seventh with the Power plating a run on a single by Justin Maffei.

With two outs in the ninth, Wyatt Mathisen reached on an infield single that scored Harold Ramirez to tie the game at six. Francisco Diaz reached on a throwing error, the fourth miscue of the game by Rome, allowing Danny Collins to score the eventual winning run. Elvis Escobar doubled in two runs and Maffei brought home Escobar to close the offense out.

Yhonathan Barrios (2-3) earned the win with two innings of relief work while Colby Holmes (1-0) was charged with a blow save and the loss.
