Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

GREENSBORO, NC - Jon Prosinski allowed one unearned run over six innings and the BlueClaws bullpen threw three scoreless innings of relief as Lakewood held on for a 2-1 win over Greensboro on Wednesday afternoon.

Robinson Torres, after an intentional walk in the fifth inning, blooped a single to center to score both BlueClaws runs.

Lakewood (20-30) finishes their road trip at 3-4 and snapped a three-game losing streak. They also won their first game in Greensboro (29-22) after dropping their first five this season. The Grasshoppers had their six game winning streak snapped in the process.

Prosinski (1-0), making his first appearance with Lakewood this year after nine starts with Clearwater, allowed an unearned run over six innings.

The first 12 BlueClaws were retired by starter Matt Milroy (5-3), but after back to back hits by Willians Astudillo and Dylan Cozens to start the fifth, a pair of strikeouts left runners at second and third. Greensboro intentionally walked Wilmer Oberto before Torres came through with the two-run single.

Julio Reyes threw a scoreless seventh and eighth, getting the first out of the ninth inning, before Cody Forsythe came in for the BlueClaws.

With two outs and a runner at first base, Javier Lopez flew out to the warning track in left where Jiandido Tromp caught the ball to end the game and give the BlueClaws the win. Forsythe moved into a tie for third in the league with his eighth save.

Dylan Cozens had two doubles and Willians Astudillo had a single to extend his hitting streak to 12.

Lakewood heads home and opens a four-game series with Delmarva on Thursday night. RHP Drew Anderson (3-3, 3.34) opposes LHP Luis Gonzalez (0-0, 1.80) at 6:35.
