Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

Right handed pitcher Scott Schneider is now the fourth member of the River Bandits named to the 2010 Western Division All-Star team. Schneider will join fellow pitcher Eric Fornataro along with D'Marcus Ingram and Matt Adams on the trip to Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Schneider has appeared in 13 games and started seven of those. He leads the team in strikeouts (60), WHIP (0.84), batting average against (.154) and he's tied with Fornataro for the team lead in wins with five. Only Fornataro has pitched more innings for the Bandits this season. Schneider's WHIP and average against are tops in the Midwest League.

The righty earned Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Month honors for April. He went 2-0 with a save and a 0.39 ERA over five appearances, three of those which were starts. In 23 innings that month he allowed only one run and he struck out 22.

Schneider is replacing Tom Stuifbergen of Beloit on the Western Division's roster. Stuifbergen has been placed on the disabled list resulting in the available roster sport for Schneider.

As an added honor, Ingram has been selected to participate in the outfield throwing portion of the skills competition and Adams has been chosen to participate in the home run derby.

The All-Star game will be held at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Tuesday, June 22.
