Worcester IceCats News Release
WORCESTER, MA- It was announced today by St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations, Larry Pleau, that defenseman Brett Scheffelmaier has been reassigned by the Blues from Peoria of the ECHL to Worcester.
The 6-5, 222 pound defenseman recently completed his second tour with the Blues/âCats ECHL affiliate and skated in four games during the assignment collecting 16 penalty minutes. Peoria is 7-3 with him in the lineup.
Due predominately to injury, Scheffelmaier has only skated in 10 games for the IceCats during the 2003-2004 campaign. He's notched an assist and 23 PIM's in those games, making the second-year professional's regular season IceCats totals: 66 games, three assists and 166 penalty minutes 66(0/3/3)166.
The IceCats, currently in second place in the Atlantic Division, head to Bridgeport for a 4:05 PM faceoff with the Sound Tigers on Tuesday. Worcester's next home game is Friday, February 27th at 7:05 PM against the Lowell Lock Monsters. Ticket inquiries should be directed to 800-830-CATS.
