
Bulldogs Earn 30th Win of Season

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs earned their 30th victory of the season on Sunday as they defeated the Manitoba Moose 4-2 in front of 6,012 fans at Copps Coliseum. The Bulldogs have now recorded 30 or more wins in five of eight seasons in Hamilton.
After a scoreless first period, the Bulldogs opened the scoring just 16 seconds into the second period as Ron Hainsey put a one-timer past Manitoba goaltender Tyler Moss. The Moose responded with a goal of their own at 2:59 of the second when Jimmy Roy scored his eleventh goal of the season.
The Bulldogs took the lead in the third period with goals from Tomas Plekanec and Marcel Hossa. Manitoba would score one more marker as Pat Kavanagh netted a goal at 17:05. However, Chris Higgins sealed the 4-2 victory for the Bulldogs with an empty-netter with just nine seconds remaining in regulation time.
Bulldogs goaltender Eric Fichaud picked up his 16th win of the season by making 20 saves on the night. In the Manitoba goal, Moss stopped 33 of 36 shots and was named the game's third star despite the loss.
Hamilton scored twice on eleven power play opportunities. The Moose did not score on their five opportunities with the man-advantage.
With the victory the Bulldogs record now improves to 30 wins, 16 losses, 7 ties and 2 overtime losses. Hamilton continues to lead the AHL's North Division with 69 points.
The Bulldogs lead the AHL in home victories with 19.
The Hamilton Bulldogs next action will take place on Friday, February 20th, as they will travel to Grand Rapids to face the Griffins. Bulldogs fans can listen to Derek Wills listen to all the action beginning at 7:20 p.m. on 820 CHAM-AM and on-line at www.hamiltonbulldogs.com.
