Grand Rapids Griffins News Release

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Monday signed goaltender Mark Scally to a professional tryout. Scally's signing was necessitated when Bujar Amidovski, the understudy to Sher-Wood AHL Player of the Week Joey MacDonald, strained his groin during this morning's practice in Houston, where the Griffins will face the Aeros tonight at 8.

Scally, 26, has spent the majority of this season with the Texas Wildcatters, an ECHL franchise based in the city of Beaumont, 87 miles east of Houston. In 61 games during his four-year pro career, he shows a 13-30-6 record and a 4.13 goals against average. Scally made one AHL appearance with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins during the 2000-01 season.
