Schaumburg Boomers News Release

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - With runners on second and third with two outs in the bottom of the tenth inning, veteran outfielder Jereme Milons smacked a single up the middle to claim a 4-3 Schaumburg Boomers victory in the first game of a pivotal series in Schaumburg.

The Boomers (45-34) claimed their seventh walk-off win of the season in the fourth extra-innings game against the ThunderBolts, who fell to 46-32 with the loss. In six of the last eight games, the Schaumburg offense has posted double-digit hits as Milons and Nate Baumann led the charge with a pair of hits apiece. Every member of the Boomers starting lineup contributed at least one base hit and each of Schaumburg's runs batted in came with two outs in the contest with Sean Mahley and Milons both driving in a pair.

Schaumburg grabbed an early lead when a Milons single allowed McQuail to score in the second only to see Windy City tie the game in the next half inning when Chris Wade doubled to left and Travis Weaver crossed the plate. It was a similar situation for the Boomers in the sixth inning as Schaumburg scored twice but relinquished the lead a half inning later as reliever Joe Parsons allowed his first runs since June 25 to snap a 19 2/3 inning scoreless streak. Baumann and Chad Mozingo both singled and scored on a Mahley single in the bottom of the sixth and a Mike Torres double knocked in two for the ThunderBolts in the seventh to tie the score at three and set the stage forMilons' tenth inning heroics.

Schaumburg and Windy City continue are back at it tomorrow again at 6:30 p.m. on Bark in the Park Night at Boomers Stadium. Both aces take the hill Wednesday as LHP Cameron Roth (8-6, 2.99) for the Boomers will do battle against RHP Mike Recchia (10-2, 2.16) for the ThunderBolts.
