It has been nearly 4 and 1/2 years, but the wait is over and the Hillbillies are back. Six original members from the regions #1 country band are back together and in concert as they reunite and become 'T he Hillbilly Way' for a Saturday August 25th show being billed as "The Hillbilly State of Mind Tailgate Party" at CONSL Energy Park, in Washington, PA.
You might not know their new name "The Hillbilly Way" but you remember their music with favorites like "One Night in New Orleans", "Hillbilly State of Mind", "Promised Land" and Mr. Right Now", which Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger guest starred in their debut country music video. The band's 2006 album debuted at No. 31 on the Billboard country chart, as a CD release show packed the former Station Square amphitheater, outdrawing many national acts. Huge crowds turned up wherever they played. Many of their songs became a way of life for their legion of fans and they are ready to crank it up once again.
Fans everywhere are excited to know that band members Abby Abbondanza (Lead Vocals), David (Junior) Guthrie (Lead Guitar), Jeff Volek (Bass Guitar), Dave Cramer (Keys/Vocals), Ryan Lucotch (Drums) and Bob (Crafty) Crafton (Steel and Electric Guitar) will be on stage and doing it the hillbilly way again. They will be joined by Guest Fiddle Player, John Parrendo
"This is a long time coming and it will be great to see old and new friends", said Abby, lead singer. "We have been working on this for over a year and we have a few surprises in store for the fans. This is way more than just a reunion for us. We want people to come early, reunite with friends and the band, and make a day of it. We plan to be out in the parking lot with everyone the day of the show to spend as much time with people as possible."
Parking lots will open at 3pm for a huge tailgate party and gates open at 4pm, with performances starting at approximately 4:30pm by The Steve Smith Band, Ruff Creek, Vanessa Campagna, and then 'The Hillbilly Way' concert should get underway just about dusk.
