Rome, GA - The Braves final home game of the season came up just a little short to the SandGnats by a final score of 5-3 at State Mutual Stadium Thursday night before 3,116 fans.
The Braves took the early lead with two runs in the first inning thanks to a two RBI double by Carlos Franco making it a 2-0 game.
Savannah tied the game with two runs in the fourth on a two run home run by Cole Frenzel. The Sand Gnats took the lead for good in the sixth with three runs. Dilson Herra had a run scoring single and Jeff Reynolds added a two run double. The Braves scored a run in the eighth but the Savannah bullpen held on the rest of the way for the final score 5-3.
Sand Gnats starter Gabriel Ynoa (15-4) picks up his fifteenth win and Braves starter Frank LaFreniere (7-13) gets the loss. Sewald gets his eighth save on the year.
