GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Monday assigned goaltender Harri Sateri to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Sateri served as a backup during Detroit's last two games.
In nine career NHL appearances, which all came last season with Florida, Sateri is 4-4-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a 0.911 save percentage.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound netminder has recorded an 18-9-3 record, a 2.79 GAA and a 0.902 save percentage in 30 appearances with the Griffins this season. In his last 10 starts, he shows a 7-2-1 record to go along with a 1.88 GAA and a 0.933 save percentage. His AHL career-high tying 18 victories also tie for seventh on the circuit.
Originally drafted in the fourth round, 106th overall, by San Jose in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Sateri has played in 188 career AHL games since 2010 between Worcester (2010-14), Springfield (2017-18) and Grand Rapids, and has totaled an 80-86-6 record, a 2.78 GAA, a 0.906 save percentage and eight shutouts. He also spent three seasons (2014-17) with Vityaz Podolsk in the Kontinental Hockey League, tallying a 52-60-16 record, 2.63 GAA, a 0.923 save percentage and nine shutouts in 132 contests. Appearing in 74 games with Tappara Tampere in Finland's top league from 2006-10, Sateri finished with a 27-34-7 record.
The Central Division-leading Griffins are back in action on Friday at the Rockford IceHogs at 8 p.m. EST.
