Donovan Recalled by Predators

Milwaukee, WI - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the team has recalled defenseman Matt Donovan from the Admirals

Donovan is third on the Admirals and first among team defensemen in points with 29 (11g-18a) in 55 games. The Edmond, Okla., native is tied for third among AHL blueliners in power-play goals (7), fifth in goals (11) and tied for 14th in points. Donovan - who represented the Admirals at the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic - is currently on a three-game point streak (1g-2a) for Milwaukee and has recorded five multi-point performances this season.

Originally drafted in the fourth round (96th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft by the New York Islanders, Donovan spent the past two seasons with Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League, where he tallied 42 points (8g-34a) in 102 games. Donovan has 67 games of NHL experience with the Islanders from 2011-15, registering 19 points (2g-17a), and has 179 points (51g-128a) in 308 career AHL contests. He played two seasons with the University of Denver from 2009-11 and won a Gold Medal with the United States at the 2010 World Junior Championship.

The Admirals will continue their seven-game homestand when the visit the Texas Stars in Austin on Wednesday night. Milwaukee's next home game will be Tuesday, March 5 at 7 pm at Panther Arena.
