San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired defenseman Patrick Sieloff from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for left wing Brian Gibbons.
Sieloff, 24 (5/15/94), has two goals (2-0=2) and two penalty minutes (PIM) in two career NHL games with Ottawa and Calgary. Sieloff's first career goal came in his NHL debut with Calgary, which also finished as the game winner in a 2-1 victory on Apr. 9, 2016 at Minnesota. The 6-1, 205-pound defenseman also scored in his first game with Ottawa on Mar. 20, 2018 vs. Florida, becoming the first player in league history to score a goal in each of his first two career games while playing for different teams.
Selected by Calgary in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Sieloff has earned 8-39=47 points with 406 PIM in 257 career American Hockey League (AHL) games with Belleville (2017-19), Binghamton (2016-17), Stockton (2015-16), Adirondack (2014-15) and Abbotsford (2013-14). Sieloff appeared in 45 games for Belleville this season, picking up 1-8=9 points and 73 PIM. At the time of his acquisition, Sieloff ranked second among Belleville leaders in PIM and third among club defensemen in appearances.
Gibbons, 30 (2/26/88), recorded 2-3=5 points with 16 PIM in 44 games with the Ducks this season. Signed as a free agent on July 2, 2018, Gibbons has 19-34=53 points with a +9 rating and 50 PIM in 169 career NHL games with Anaheim, New Jersey, Columbus and Pittsburgh.
