Hurricanes Acquire Tomas Jurco

RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has acquired left wing Tomas Jurco from the Florida Panthers organization in exchange for future considerations. In addition, the Hurricanes have traded forward Cliff Pu to the Panthers for future considerations.

Jurco, 26, has totaled 10 points (4g, 6a) in 14 games with the American Hockey League's Springfield Thunderbirds this season. The 6'0", 188-pound winger has appeared in 201 career NHL games with Detroit and Chicago, totaling 22 goals and 28 assists (50 points) and 60 penalty minutes. He will report to Carolina's AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.
