San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the San Diego Honda Dealers have signed on as the title sponsor of the AHL club's inaugural 'Drive to the Playoffs' as the Gulls wrap up their regular season with back-to-back home games against the AHL Pacific Division champion Ontario Reign.
The Gulls and San Diego Honda Dealers will host a Blood Drive in partnership with the San Diego Blood Bank on Friday, April 15 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Blood Drive will take place at Valley View Casino Center (3500 Sports Arena Blvd, San Diego, CA) on the east side of the building. Fans who participate will have the opportunity to attend the Gulls and Reign morning skates, both set to be held at Valley View Casino Center that morning. San Diego takes the ice at 10 a.m., followed by Ontario at 11 a.m. All blood donors will receive a free San Diego Honda Dealers Drive to the Playoffs Gulls t-shirt as well as a Gulls playoff ticket voucher, which can be redeemed for a terrace level seat at any of the Gulls' Round 1 home games. The playoff schedule will be announced by the AHL at a later date. A buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer for this weekend's games is also available to all donors.
The Gulls' radio partner, Broadcast Company of the Americas, and flagship, The Mighty 1090 (1090 AM) will also be on-site at Valley View Casino Center all day on April 15, with the #1 rated Scott and BR afternoon drive show on Mighty 1090-AM broadcasting live from Valley View Casino Center from 3 p.m. through 6 p.m., after doors open for $2 Beer Night. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
After the Friday evening matchup, the Gulls and Reign return to Valley View Casino Center for their final contest of the regular season. All fans in attendance at Saturday's Fan Appreciation Night will receive a team photo poster. The game will also feature a number of other special fan giveaways. The San Diego Honda Dealers Drive to the Playoffs weekend culminates at this Saturday night tilt with a Food Drive at Valley View Casino Center to benefit the local Salvation Army. Collection bins will be located at all entrances of the arena. Fans can also drop off a food item at a donation truck located within the Bud Light Tailgate outside the north entrance from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., before puck drop (the game starts at 7:05 p.m.).
