The Week That Was...
The Ontario Reign closed a four-game road trip, wrapped up their 2015-16 regular-season home schedule and opened a season-ending three-game road trip last week for a week record of 3-0-0-0 and improved their overall record to 43-18-4-1.
The Reign began the week in Stockton, California on Wednesday, visiting the Stockton Heat. Forward Adrian Kempe recorded two assists and goaltender Peter Budaj made a season-high 46 saves to help the Reign claim a 4-1 victory. With the win, the Reign also captured the first-ever AHL Pacific Division regular-season title.
On Friday, Ontario returned to Citizens Business Bank Arena to celebrate Fan Appreciation Night. Forward Joel Lowry scored two goals and an assist and forwards Kris Newbury (two assists) and Justin Auger (one goal, one assist) each added two points in a 4-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors.
The following night, the Reign extended their winning streak to four games with a 4-2 win at Bakersfield. Forwards Jonny Brodzinski and Newbury each scored a goal and an assist.

Goaltender Peter Budaj leads the league with a 1.74 goals-against average (GAA), nine shutouts, 41 wins and 3515 minutes played and .932 save percentage. He is second in the AHL with 1399 saves.
Defenseman Kurtis MacDermid is fourth among rookies with 112111 penalty minutes and tied for second with 28 minor penalties.
Forward Jonny Brodzinski is fifth among AHL rookies with 169 shots.
Defenseman Vincent LoVerde leads all AHL blueliners with four game-winning goals.
